Rescue Network vs. Single Rescue: Why Your Software Needs Are Completely Different

If you're coordinating a network of rescue organizations and using software built for a single shelter, you're not using the wrong features — you're using the wrong tool entirely. Single-org rescue software is built around a single database owned by a single organization. A rescue network has a fundamentally different data model, and no amount of workarounds will bridge that gap.

The Fundamental Architectural Difference

In a rescue network: animals move between organizations and need records that travel with them. Foster homes may be affiliated with multiple orgs or shared across the network. Volunteers may serve multiple partner organizations in different roles — transport driver for Org A, foster family for Org B. Adoption applications may need to be visible across organizations.
